Do You Want To Be Wealthy? Do This!

"Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago." ~Warren Buffett

Wealthy people like Warren Buffett planted several trees a long time ago. He didn't make his fortune by using credit cards or playing the lottery. He took calculated risks and saved his money.

If you want to know how to make it into the same league as Warren Buffett, take notes.

  • Wealthy people keep their expenses low even when their income goes up. Spending less than you earn allows more opportunity to save. The truly wealthy live modest lifestyles.
  • They take calculated risks that don’t incur large losses. They don't make financial decisions out of emotion and spend money on things that dramatically decrease in value, such as cars.
  • They pay themselves first and they stay out of debt. This is a major component of building wealth. Another component is your income. Too many people are taking their entire paychecks and paying everyone else.
  • Time is more valuable than money. Building wealth takes time. If you're not saving already, the time to start is now!
  • They don't follow the crowd. They have a plan and they know what they want and they don’t care what others think of it.
  • Many of them are givers! Not just because they have more money to give. But, giving brings happiness to their lives.
  • They are unbelievably patient, and they are content with material possessions. When you know what you want and have a clear plan on how to get there, it's easier to be patient. Rather than focusing on the stuff you don’t have, focus on what you do have. Practice being content and grateful and you will be amazed how much your spending goes down.

These are all things that the wealthy have in common. In order to be a good dancer, you study other dancers. In order to be a good artist, you study other artists. So if you want to be wealthy, you must study those who are wealthy.
